True Commercial Refrigerator Repair

Independent diagnostics and repair planning for True commercial refrigeration in restaurants, bars, delis, bakeries and institutional kitchens across the Bay Area.

Overview

The exact cabinet decides what applies

True cabinets appear in several different product families and generations. The complete model, the controller fitted and the refrigerant configuration determine which documentation applies and what work falls within legal repair scope.

For that reason the unit is identified before any diagnosis or parts discussion. Model and serial details belong in a private request, not in a public message.

Independent service. KONGRA LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorized by these manufacturers. Brand names are used only to identify equipment we service.
Coverage

True equipment covered

Self-contained commercial cabinets

  • T-Series reach-in refrigerators and freezers, including the T-23 and T-49 families
  • TUC undercounter and TWT worktop units
  • TSSU sandwich and salad prep tables, and TPP pizza prep tables
  • GDM and other glass-door visual merchandisers
  • Back-bar and beverage refrigeration
  • Chef bases and related self-contained commercial cabinets

The exact model suffix and configuration matter. Cabinets that look alike can differ in controller, airflow arrangement, defrost behaviour and refrigerant, so no two models are treated as identical.

Symptoms

Service patterns

Cabinet not holding temperature
Slow recovery after deliveries or heavy door traffic
High-temperature or control alarm
Evaporator frost or weak airflow
Condenser airflow and heat-rejection condition
Fan or compressor start and run behaviour
Door, hinge or gasket issue
Condensate or drain leakage
Prep-table rail behaving differently from the base

No symptom proves a specific failed part. Each pattern narrows where measurement starts. A general version of the warm-cabinet complaint is covered in the not-cooling guide.

Method

How diagnosis is narrowed

What is measured and checked

  • Independent product and air temperature pattern measured through the cabinet, not read from the display alone
  • Actual operating load and door use during the affected period
  • Condenser condition, airflow and the ambient heat around the unit
  • Evaporator airflow, frost pattern and defrost behaviour
  • Controller settings, sensor readings and stored alarm history on the matching controller
  • Door closure, hinge alignment and gasket sealing under normal operating conditions
  • Electrical start and run behaviour of fans and the compressor
  • Refrigerant-system evaluation only when the simpler evidence supports it, and only within KONGRA's legal service scope
Scope

Model and refrigerant matter

Current and older True cabinets can be built with different controllers and different refrigerants. Procedures, settings and parts are not transferred between configurations, even where two cabinets share a family name.

Hydrocarbon refrigerants such as R290 carry their own safety and legal requirements. This page gives no do-it-yourself refrigerant instructions. Sealed-system and refrigerant work is performed only within KONGRA’s legal license scope, or coordinated with properly licensed independent contractors.

Planning

Preventive maintenance and downtime

Inspection intervals are planned from the exact model, actual usage, kitchen heat and grease load, door traffic and the recorded temperature and alarm history — not from a universal interval. KONGRA makes no uptime or emergency-response promise, and parts availability is checked against the exact model after inspection.

Recurring coverage is arranged through preventive maintenance or a maintenance agreement.

Real KONGRA work

Category evidence from KONGRA visits

The two records below are commercial and high-end refrigeration observations from KONGRA visits. They are shown to illustrate the diagnostic categories described on this page — evaporator frost pattern and condenser airflow condition. Neither photograph is a True cabinet, and neither represents a completed True repair.

Frost accumulation on a refrigeration evaporator coil during inspection.
Diagnostic observation
Evaporator frost pattern documented

Evaporator coil frost pattern documented during refrigeration inspection. Root cause requires on-site measurement.

Commercial Refrigeration Repair
Debris accumulation across a refrigerator condenser intake during inspection.
Diagnostic observation
Refrigerator condenser condition documented

Refrigerator condenser documented with significant debris accumulation across the intake surface — a condition relevant to airflow.

Before booking

Send these privately with your request

  • Model and serial number from the data plate, sent privately
  • The exact display or controller text, photographed as it appears
  • A current independent temperature log, if you keep one
  • When the condition occurs — overnight, during service, after deliveries
  • Recent loading changes, condenser cleaning or other service work
  • Any water, condensate or door problem you have noticed

Please do not remove panels, bypass controls or attempt refrigerant work to reproduce a fault. Those checks belong to the visit.
