VFD & Servo Drive Diagnostics

Drive fault, servo alarm or machine that will not run? KONGRA diagnoses selected industrial drive and motion-control systems before replacement is approved.

Startup failures, load trips & recurring servo alarms

Selected Siemens, Mitsubishi Electric, Yaskawa, ABB and Allen-Bradley drive systems can be reviewed for failure to start, trips under load, overheating, unstable motion and repeated communication alarms. The exact drive, motor and machine configuration determine the diagnostic scope; a manufacturer name alone does not establish compatibility.

  • Drive trips when production load increases
  • Servo alarm or axis that will not enable
  • Intermittent shutdown after warm-up
  • Supported repair, exchange and parameter-restoration options

1. Identify the failure

Separate the drive from the motor, encoder, wiring, power conditions, machine load and mechanical condition. An alarm code is a starting point, not a complete diagnosis.

2. Decide the repair strategy

When supported, the options can include repair, professionally rebuilt or exchange hardware, or replacement. The customer approves the selected path before parts are ordered.

3. Restore supported configuration

Where documentation and equipment support allow it, machine-specific parameters and configuration are preserved or restored as part of the approved work. KONGRA does not publish customer parameter sets or proprietary machine data.

4. Functional verification

After approved work, relevant machine behavior is checked and documented. The test scope depends on the actual equipment and access available.

Repair, exchange or replacement

Expensive industrial electronics do not always need a new OEM assembly. Professionally repaired, rebuilt or exchange modules may be presented for approval when technically appropriate and available.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does a VFD fault code prove the drive is bad?+

No. The motor, load, wiring, power conditions, parameters and connected equipment may need to be checked before condemning the drive.

Can you install an exchange drive?+

For selected machine-side equipment and an approved scope, KONGRA can evaluate exchange or replacement options. Facility electrical work is handled only within applicable legal scope.
