A locked oven door is sometimes exactly what the appliance is supposed to do. The question is whether it releases when it should.
There are three different situations behind the same complaint. A self-clean cycle locks the door deliberately and keeps it locked while the cavity is hot. A control lock is a setting someone enabled. A lock-system problem is when the door stays locked after the oven is fully cool, or locks by itself during ordinary cooking.
A lock message describes a control or door-lock state whose meaning depends on the model. It does not identify a failed latch motor, switch or board, and the controls that clear it differ from model to model. Never pry the door, defeat the latch or remove panels to reach the lock. Let a self-clean cycle finish and the oven cool as your manual describes. Do not start another self-clean cycle to try to unlock the door.

An Electrolux range arrived at diagnosis with LOC DOOR displayed, the oven door locked and normal controls unresponsive. After control-system recovery and functional testing, the latch released and oven operation resumed. No control-board or latch replacement is recorded. A repeat lockout would call for further testing rather than assuming that another reset is a lasting repair.
