Weak vacuum is a system symptom, not a component verdict. The source, the pipework and the point of use each fail in their own way, and the pattern over time tells you which one to look at first.
What the symptom actually tells you
KONGRA supports selected non-hazardous vacuum applications in light production and material handling — pick-and-place, holding, clamping, simple conveying and similar duties. Acceptance follows a review of the model and the application, because the medium being handled and the way the system is used govern both the safe method and whether the work is something KONGRA should take on at all.
The most useful first split is timing. Vacuum that has drifted down over weeks or months suggests progressive change: filter loading, accumulated leakage, gradual wear. Vacuum that dropped suddenly right after maintenance points at what was opened or refitted. A machine that now runs louder or draws more current is a third, separate observation. And a system where the source itself measures fine but performance at the point of use is poor is a fourth — that one is usually about what happens between the two.
From there the candidates are ordinary and checkable: leakage at hoses, fittings and seals; restriction anywhere in the path; filter and silencer condition; driven speed and direction of rotation; and the condition of internal parts such as seals and the impeller. What you can safely observe yourself
Observations from your normal operating position only. Read gauges where they are already visible; do not open pipework, filters or the machine.
- Record the full model designation including any suffix, and the serial number
- Record the intended medium and what the system is used for
- Note the normal gauge reading you used to see, and the reading now, if both are safely visible
- Note when the change started, and whether it was gradual or sudden
- Note recent maintenance, filter or hose changes, and who carried them out
- Note any new noise, heat or current change, and whether it is constant
- Do not open, dismantle or attempt to service the blower or pump
- Do not remove or clean filter or silencer components as a test
- Do not run the system with pipework disconnected to 'see if suction is there'
- Do not change drive speed or rewire the motor to alter rotation

What vacuum reading should my system hold?+
There is no universal figure, and quoting one would be misleading. The meaningful comparison is your own system's normal reading against what it shows now, for the same machine, medium and application. That is why we ask for the earlier normal value if you have it.
It got worse right after maintenance. Does that mean the work was wrong?+
It means the timing is a strong clue and should be recorded. A change that follows maintenance narrows attention to what was opened, refitted or replaced — hoses, filters, seals, silencer components or the drive arrangement. It is a starting point for the assessment, not a conclusion about anyone's work.
The blower sounds louder and draws more current. Is that the pump failing?+
Possibly, but not necessarily. Noise and current change with restriction, leakage, filter condition, driven speed and rotation direction as well as with internal condition. Those are separated on site with measurement rather than decided from the sound.
Do you service medical or process vacuum systems?+
No. Medical and life-support vacuum, heavy process systems, hazardous-atmosphere applications and any regulated work outside KONGRA's held capability are outside scope.
