Identify the exact model and suffix

KM is a large family, not a single machine. Capacity class, control generation and condenser arrangement all differ, and the suffix on the data plate is what identifies which documentation and which parts apply. An air-cooled head, a water-cooled head and a remote configuration read the same complaint very differently: one is limited by room air and condenser condition, another by supply water, another by the outdoor section and its line routing.

  • Complete cycles timed and observed from fill through freeze to harvest
  • Water fill volume, circulation and distribution across the evaporator
  • Ice appearance, thickness and release pattern as harvest completes
  • Bin control and its response as the bin fills and empties
  • Sensor and control readings compared against the values documented for that model
  • Condenser condition, airflow, ambient temperature and ventilation clearances
  • Supply water condition, filtration state and scale accumulation on wetted surfaces
  • Drain routing, condensate handling and any leakage path
  • Sealed-system evaluation only where earlier evidence supports it and within legal scope

Planning

Preventive maintenance and downtime risk

Most ice emergencies were visible earlier as a trend: production drifting down week by week, scale accumulating on wetted surfaces, a condenser slowly loading with kitchen dust, or filtration left in place well past its useful life. Planned inspection records that condition and compares it with the previous visit, so work can be scheduled outside service hours rather than during a rush.

Intervals are set from the exact model, daily demand, water condition and cleaning history — not from a universal schedule. Condition tracking reduces avoidable downtime; it is not an uptime guarantee, and KONGRA makes no such promise. Recurring coverage is arranged through preventive maintenance or a maintenance agreement.
