PLC & HMI Backup and Recovery Readiness
Authorized backup assessment and recovery planning for selected existing PLC, HMI and drive systems.
Inventory before changes
Review the installed controller, HMI and VFD models; firmware; engineering software and lawful licenses; communication interfaces; and available source projects or parameter files. Record what is accessible, what is missing and which dependencies a replacement would need.
- Asset, firmware and software inventory
- Available source projects and parameter backups
- Supported access and communication requirements
Preserve available material with permission
With the equipment owner's authorization and supported tools, the approved scope may include exporting accessible configuration, copying available projects and organizing private backup files with their versions and dependencies. A device upload may not contain editable source, comments or everything needed to rebuild a system.
Protected or missing source is not promised recoverable. KONGRA does not bypass passwords, software licensing, safety interlocks or manufacturer access restrictions.
A backup is not a verified restore
Backup creation records what was preserved. Recovery-readiness review checks completeness, compatibility and the documented steps for restoring supported equipment; it is not proof that the machine will run after replacement.
A verified restore requires a separately approved test scope, suitable hardware or an agreed maintenance window, and recorded results. Production interruption and rollback arrangements must be agreed before any live-system change.
- Compatibility and replacement review
- Documented recovery steps, dependencies and unresolved gaps
- Separate restore-test approval and results
Phased restoration and periodic refresh
The written assessment separates findings from proposed work: preserve accessible material first, review replacement options next, then undertake supported restoration or limited modernization only after approval. A refresh can be scheduled after authorized changes or at an agreed interval; there is no default service frequency or uptime guarantee.
Turnkey automation, safety-rated redesign and validation are outside this offer. The scope remains selected existing machine-side equipment, with regulated work coordinated appropriately.
Request Service
For obsolete HMIs, uncertain backups, replacement drives or lost supplier support. Proprietary files use an agreed private service exchange.

Frequently asked questions
Does having a backup mean restoration is verified?+
No. Backup creation and recovery-readiness review are distinct from a restore test. Verification needs a separately approved test scope and recorded results.
Can protected or missing source always be recovered?+
No. Access, source availability, software licenses and equipment support determine the scope. Passwords, licensing and safety protections are not bypassed.
Can backups be refreshed periodically?+
An optional refresh can be agreed for selected supported equipment, including after authorized changes. The interval and deliverables belong in the written scope.
